I need to get out more often! I see I only post once a month. In the past month not much has happened. My husband got laid off (again) but hopefully for not very long. He's now doing some construction work for a guy that drives him nuts (talks way too much and is always in the way). In return for his first job with him he got a boat. A nice boat, too. In return for this current job, he's getting a '93 Executive Edition Lincoln Town Car. We're going to try to sell it immediately and pay off my truck. What a relief that will be. In other news, Project Feeder Watch through the Cornell Ornithology Lab begins next month and continues through April. I received my materials the other day and can't wait to start. We've had quite a few ducks in the yard every morning. The decoys I put in the pond seem to have a calming effect on them. This morning we had 20 with the males in various states of plumage. The other day we even had a male Black Duck. Naturally i took a lot of pictures of him. We've also had an injured female Mallard. A hunting accident no doubt. My husband keeps threatening to shoot them and I keep threatening to make him sleep in the garage if he does. He says he'd be okay with that because he has a stereo with satellite radio, a beer fridge, heat and all of his tools. And on top of all this, we also have a new turd, I mean kitten. We call her Little Bits. She likes to go for shoulder rides and sleep on our necks. She keeps beating up the dog's bed and eating her food. Work at the store is going well and I no longer have to work the 4 PM - Midnight shift very often. Yay. We are expecting our first snow today. So far it's just raining off and on and about 40 degrees. Photo to follow of ducks. Time for a Mario Kart race on the Wii. It started to rain and snow and the mallards are back. They sure like it when it's wet and icky out there. I have pictures of them out on the snow and ice last fall. Where's my camera?
We now have 26 mallards and a female black duck out there in the rain and snow. Rats. My photos are unable to post here at this time. They do, however, seem to have made it to my photos page.
