Last Saturday (Nov. 15) Paul Marx changed the name of his 12 Noon - 6 PM Saturday afternoon program "The Louisiana Music Show" to "Saturday Afternoon Live". He is again playing an extremely wide variety of music. During the program, he talked about his previous nightclub work, and DJ'ing. He also gave his vision for the new program.
Those people who remember the Saturday show Paul did early in 2008 called "The Party" will find it is an improved version of that program. It really is theater of the mind, where you can imagine him DJ'ing in a nightclub, spinning dance music as well as local Louisiana favorites.
In a time when several radio corporations are doing so poorly their stock has been delisted by major stock exchanges and many radio stations now turn on the computer Saturday afternoons, Paul is in the house, crackin' people up and making great radio. Tune in if you get the chance. And if you have a favorite song you enjoyed hearing in the clubs back in the day, contact Paul and suggest he play it. There are some great songs that haven't been played in years and most people forgot about them. Some have not withstood the test of time. For those that did, do your fellow listeners a favor and suggest them.
