George, 4 years ago | FlagToday, KVPI-FM slugs some of the broadcastsfrom Fred's Lounge on KVPI-AM onto their Internet stream. These broadcasts document the change in the Cajun culture. In the early 80's, I purchased a LP on Oxford Street in the West End of London, England titled "This is Mamou Cajun Radio". It was recorded at Fred's, and includes some of the announceme nts and commercial s. Everything was spoken in French. Station ID's indicated the program was broadcast over KEUN. The funny part is that the first radio station ever actually licensed to Mamou is KBON, the one and only "Mamou Cajun Radio". (Sonet Stereo LP SNTF 802)
